Dr. med. Christoph Nicolaisen, born in 1968, studied human medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich from 1990 to 1996. As part of his doctoral thesis under Prof. Rosemeyer, he studied the results of arthroscopic therapy for early defects following anterior cruciate ligament replacement. He received his specialist training at the Munich-Harlaching Municipal Hospital, where he first qualified as a specialist in surgery and then as a specialist in trauma surgery and orthopaedics and trauma surgery.

In the department of Prof. Hertlein, a proven specialist in the field of spinal surgery, he most recently worked as a senior physician. Here he was able to gain extensive experience, but also the realization that – particularly in the area of degenerative and disc-related spinal disorders – surgical treatment often only achieves unsatisfactory results. This prompted him to focus on the conservative and minimally invasive treatment of these conditions.

As part of outpatient and inpatient orthopaedic pain therapy, he uses so-called interventional methods such as image converter-controlled or CT-guided periradicular therapy (PRT), epidural catheter treatment according to Prof. Racz, intervertebral disc micro-laser therapy and thermal probe treatment.
